BSM Safety Day

This year, the theme for Shell Safety Day was on ‘Human Performance’, the backbone of the Safety Refresh, launched on 10th June 2020 with thousands of conversations revolving on safety around the world.

The current pandemic raises the awareness and concerns on health and safety of the people. With human performance principles, we acknowledge that people make mistakes. It is important that we take the initiative to understand this and adopt a Learner’s Mindset whereby everyone should feel free to speak up and create better environments and drive safer behavior.  These principles are key to thriving through the challenges we now face.

For leaders and supervisors it is important to make an effort to learn more about the nature of the job colleagues and frontline workers do , encourage an environment where they can express their thoughts to create an environment of constant learning and to make it harder for people to make mistakes and easier for them to work safely.

In BSM all departments and business partners together had discussions with their teams on how we can bring these principles to life at all our sites with lively discussions and real life scenarios.

We are the solutions to the problems. That includes everyone. Let’s help each other to get things right.
